The Petroleum Exchange is a confidential counterparty alignment platform for the international petroleum trade. Fill your profile, submit your procedure, and receive introductions ranked by execution compatibility — powered by the Petro-X™ Platform.

  • Confidential by Design

On the platform, counterparties see your assigned handle and your vetting tier — never your name. Your name, organisation, and contact details are never exchanged between counterparties on Petro-X, at any stage, including after the NCNDA/IMFPA (Non-Circumvention Non-Disclosure Agreement / Irrevocable Master Fee Protection Agreement) is signed.

  • Progressive Vetting

Business Partner Vetting (BPV) is an optional independent verification service available to participants who wish to provide counterparties with independently verified business information and documentation before an introduction. Participation is entirely voluntary. BPV offers an additional option for those who prefer to interact only with counterparties that have likewise chosen to independently verify basic corporate information.

  • Procedure-First

Sellers submit their complete transaction procedures. Buyers specify what they will and will not accept. The Petro-X™ Compatibility Engine introduces counterparties based on execution compatibility.

  • No Upfront Fees

No subscription and no upfront charges. If the parties decide to proceed after an Introduction, a Petro-X™ Platform Commission becomes due when the buyer pays for the product. Petro-X™ Platform Commission fees are available at the Petro-X™ Platform Fee Schedule.

  • Legal Services

The Petroleum Exchange supports the transaction from start to finish. Every Petro-X™ Introduction opens a confidential Petro-X™ Green Room for communications and document exchange. When both parties are ready, The Petroleum Exchange opens their Petro-X™ Closing Room — powered by The Closing Rooms (TheClosingRooms.com) — where the Petro-X™ NCNDA/IMFPA is negotiated and executed and the transaction is managed through closing. Additional transaction documentation and legal support are available upon request.

Why The Petroleum Exchange

The global petroleum industry transacts trillions of dollars each year. Yet many transactions fail at execution. Fragmented broker chains, recycled mandates, incompatible commercial procedures, and counterparties lacking appropriate verification, financial capability, or logistical readiness often prevent otherwise viable transactions from reaching closing.

The Petroleum Exchange was created to reduce execution risk before counterparties are introduced. Rather than simply connecting Buyers and Sellers, the Petro-X™ Platform analyzes commercial procedures, transaction requirements, and execution compatibility to identify counterparties whose processes are already substantially aligned.

By combining intelligent matching, confidential introductions, a standardized legal framework, and secure transaction workspaces, The Petroleum Exchange helps participants spend less time pursuing unworkable opportunities and more time advancing transactions that will close.

The Solution

Petro-X™ was built to eliminate transaction friction and allow the strongest opportunities to rise to the top. Complete your profile, submit your transaction procedure, and let the Petro-X™ Compatibility Engine analyze your compatibility with active counterparties across the Platform. The result is a procedure-compatible introduction—not a cold lead.
